Things to bring:

1. PTI TEST BOOKS (Books 1 and 2). If lost, duplicates can be ordered for $5 each.

2. Rattan sticks (2 to 4)

3. Duct tape for stick repair.

4. Rubber training knives. I like the ones from Cold Steel. Bring two long ones and two shorter ones cut down to the size of your carry knives.

5. Eye protection. Racket ball goggles are good. Try to find some with tinted lens for sun protection. Lowe’s hardware also has good impact resistant goggles with sunglass-like lens. Please don't rely on regular sunglasses during training.

6. Sparring gear. Even if you don’t plan on sparring, hockey gloves and a heavy saber or three-weapon fencing mask will help you train with more safety during fast drills.

7. Baseball batter’s gloves. These gloves will save you from getting blisters if you train for several days straight.

8. Suntan lotion and sun hat. I always see some young guy at a camp who thinks he doesn’t need these and then finds how wrong he is when he tries to workout on day two or three with a sunburn.

9. Bottled water. Bring at least one gallon each day.

10. Foam or foldable cooler and ice packs. Although there is a deli ten minutes away, I recommend that you pack your lunch in the morning so you can eat and rest during lunch hour.

11. Snacks. Energy bars, fruits, chips, etc.

12. Small first-aid kit. Include moleskin, first-aid tape, Neosporin, bandage assortment and Tylenol or Advil.
